Hi @Sister Golden Hair and @stevieb .. weather has been rainy and dreary here too.  Today it is supposed to go to 72 degrees.  I don't mind the mild weather ... but more rain is in the forecast!!!

I could probably handle the temps without the rain and humidity. It's just an uncomfortable mess and not at all festive. And the weather people, all they do is salivate about possible broken records... Who care...

I expect it's like Foo said, it'll be more famine than feast until after Christmas... And speaking of Christmas, I've decided it's time for me to redefine it... I have to admit to being one of those for whom Christmas has come to mean sort of the blues... Somehow, it never quite meets expectations. Of course, this year, I have very few expectations and I'm not sure that's much fun either... The point is that it's just time to actively pursue a new 'normal... To try to minimize lamentations of Christmas past and to forge new ways of embracing the holidays. Let's face it, we are who we are. We have memories and experiences and perhaps more than one of us misses the way things used to be. For me though, the holidays simply have to morph into more than a few perfunctory social gatherings, lots of memories of friends and families and the usual cleaning, shopping, wrapping and so on... Next year, assuming the creek don't rise... I think I'm going to have to seek out some new experiences. While they might not supplant the holiday experiences of days gone by, there has to be more to it... Cue up Peggy Lee and "Is That All There Is"...

Maybe I'll get back before Christmas, but if not, Merry Christmas too all the bag ladies...
