The Barlow went back. Adored it on arrival. Used it carefully for two days. Loved looking at it. Packed it with sadness.

Turns out the "too short strap" reviews were, in fact, correct. I was able to easily get it over my shoulder, so I dismissed them. But the straps are shorter than my Dooney straps on the hobo logo or O-ring hobo, for example. And stiff! At the end of the day, my shoulder hurt. And it never "fit"against my body, especially with the two "pockets."

I had saved all the packing and gently put it back together. Someone will get a lovely, no marks, "as is."

*now handbag grieving*

I cancelled my backorder on the Dooney Mets Logo Hobo. My irrational exuberance for the team has waned, as has the baseball season. And l've been searching out Bordeaux and olive green offerings. Well, l found both on eBay. I got "deals" on both (they're both NWT), and together they came to only a little more $$ than the one bag that l cancelled would have cost. (The one on the left is an IM with quilt detail, and on the right is Brahmin). So, to my mind, it's a "wash." 

So, @stevieb, do l avoid keeping @Serendipity and @NycVixen company in the outhouse??

Well Handy @handygal2 I'm afraid I'm having a bit of trouble being objective in this instance...  First, smart move on cancelling the Mets bag. Nothing agaist the Mets and while I love my Virginia bag, these bags are not worth the price. They also appear not to be made to the usual Dooney standard...  That said, the bags (plural) you picked up are lovely and the green Brahmin is particulalry drool worthy, inducing a fit of envy in me... Because of that, I fear my judgment is clouded, so I'm going to give you a pass this time... But it does appear your acquisitions are somewhat prolific, so be advised, you are on the cusp of doing time in The House... Yes indeed, you stand at the precipice of stink-dom... Do not fall over, as SO many have done (and SO many times...) before you.

This is nice bag serendipity 😍 it looks like my Florentine satchel but with no shirt straps. Don't know the name of this one but it is really pretty. No more bags for me right now since I just got the TSV Brenna

No idea @Serendipity...  Looks like it might be the original Florentine leather before they were even calling it a Florentine line, or one of the earlier bags from that line... How Florentine bags patina probably is impacted by whether they were more smooth or more pebbled to begin with. Initially, it seems most of the Florentine bags were very smooth but eventually some of them started to have more of a slightly textured look. I suspect, but could be wrong, that the smoother bags will patine more like this one has, but yes, I believe with age and use they will all patina.

And Vix, while I might (and I mean might) offer a stay of, uh, sentencing pending your actions going forward, it isn't looking good. Meanwhile, I'm all too familiar with Dippity's MO and so her claiming to be 'done' falls on completely deaf ears...  and I mean stone deaf.

Should it reopen... Dippity, you are definitely going in... Vix, I'll get back to you after deliberating... but must tell you that the tribunal is leaning toward sentencing you to some time, even if only as a preventive measure. You've been quite out of control...
