What a disappointment! The hardware is the same at the handles as the last GILI hobo that Lisa presented before leaving. Instead of it being a solid piece it has the pin mechanism that broke off. I sent that bag back and ordered a replacement and had the same thing happen again. I'm so glad I have 4 Roma 2's-natural ostrich, black, blush pink and cream snake.

Agreed! The tassel looks cheap. I think they really cut corners with this style. Makes you realize the excellent quality of the former Roma.

Just wanted to add that the original was a good duplicate of the Gucci style, this new one got away from that.

Me too! To me that was GILI's signature. Now it's just general handbag. Nothing sets it apart from the other brands.

The omission is the fact that they have eliminated the inner clasp to move in the sides. The ability to pull in the sides made the ROMA 2 a classy bag.

Here's a pic of the Milano Hobo showing a problem with

this type of hardware.  Looks like this is being used on the

new Roma 4s. Jill did say they have made improvements

to the hardware. All I can say is...... Why didn't they keep

the O ring ??

@MorningLover Is that your Milano?  That's awful!  I agree, WHY didn't they keep the O hardware?  It's such a tried and true bag, just keep it always, but do different colors/prints.  It would be a no brainer for every season, same pattern, hardware, just make it relevent with new colors and prints.  Why mess with something that you know is a top seller?
