Merlot colored bag, please advise!!!

My birthday is coming up and a friend offered to go in on a new Dooney with me. I found one that is gorgeous and a beautiful wine, merlot color which I have recently become to love! My concern is will merlot, wine, burgundy shades be totally "last year", out of style and make a bag that color obsolete in a year or two? I don't have to be up on all the latest fads but don't want to look like an old lady carrying a "has been" colored bag either. Even though my friend is going in on this purchase it's a big purchase for me and I want a bag I can carry in confidence for many years to come! Help please!!! Thank you all!

Burgundy is a fall staple color and comes back every year, as far as I'm aware. I have a burgundy Dooney I bought several years ago. Some years it's more prevalent, but I see it every year.

I agree. Burgundy is a basic fall color and always has been, I think she'll carry it for years to come, I sure would!

i've loved the color burgundy for years. i wear it in clothes, shoes and accessories. i've never been one to listen to fashion editors dictate what colors or trends are

in or out. i find it laughable. if it looks good and makes you happy, buy it and wear it. be you. not a clone. 😊

I think you can carry any bag you love and there are no rules about colors. I don't think any color is "last year". A bag is a personal choice and it should reflect the person carrying it. If you love it and want it just get it and enjoy!! Happy Birthday!

I've worn wine colors for at least 10 years. In style just means more shopping choices. Either that color works in your wardrobe and flatters you or it doesn't.
