I sold all my Louis Vuittons about a decade ago, I saw too many fakes and I didn't like carrying my real LVs anymore.  I started buying Chanel and Hermes and I'm addicted even though prices are insane, really insane.  I do see fake Chanels and some fake Birkins but not like I see LVs.  I paid $1500.00 for a Chanel flap and it is now over $8000.00!

@MissRose722  That is a beautiful Louis Vuitton purse- I love the little gold heart and the red color!! I completely agree about the idea of buying used luxury handbags- it is sustainable and affordable.  I have a Celine C-Bag that I purchased on Fashionphile at 70% off of the original price- it was my dream bag and I waited 3 years to get it at a killer deal in a gorgeous caramel color.  I used to work at Celine at Saks and I'd try on that purse every day hoping to someday have it- but the price was way too expensive until I found it in excellent condition second hand.  Love it! Smiley HappyHeart

@SportyShorty07 , Thanks so much and my Speedy 25 is a classic tomato red - LV calls it "Castilian Red." And congratulations on purchasing a great pre-owned Celine!  Even sweeter that it's a bag you coveted Smiley Happy

Yep your right @DRUMPF.  I'm tall and my favorite size is the large or "jumbo" as they call it.  It's not big.  Think 11" long but has some nice width.

Now $8,000?  The "large" classic flap is now $12,000 with tax.  Oh my word and they will probably have a new increase for cruise  in November.

I had a black "maxi".  I bought it for $6,000 in 2017.  Well now that one with tax is almost 13,000.  It was a bit too large for me though, I did not need it really and sold it for a big profit at Fashionphile.

Anybag over $3,000 in value they only take 15% of your money and pay you on the spot when it is inspected and authenticated of course.

I'm not using my 4 classic flaps much lately because of these increases. Plus they are brand new in looks.  I've only taken them out for dinner.  One white from 2019 was only taken out once.  White's get  the most money.  Heck, they are doing as well as the stock market. lol.

Here's a pic of the black Chanel classic flap "maxi".  It's not huge but what the heck do I need two black ones for anyway? It's only  1 inch larger.  Don't know what I was thinking.

@MissRose722  Thank you so much Smiley HappyHeart!  I'm definitely excited to have the Celine purse that I wanted for 3 years at a great deal, it really is a great purse.  Oooh "Castilian Red" is such an elegant color name- your Speedy 25 is really a knockout stunning purse and I bet it looks lovely on you! Do you ever wear Castilian Red colored lipstick or nails to match the purse? What's great about your purse is that you can use it as a pop of color or even a neutral to go with tons of gorgeous outfits- its a very versatile purse.  Here's a photo of my medium Celine C-Bag- my iphone 5 doesn't take great photos since it's 7 years old, so here's a photo of it from online. The Celine C-Bag can be worn cross body or doubled up chained as a shoulder purse and I like to wear mine as a shoulder bag. Smiley Happy

@Allthingsgirly67 I agree that once they were considered exclusive and very high end, but now they are much more common and carried by many people.  They do have plain bags, like plain black, but most people seem to prefer the patterns that are most associated with the brand.   People apparently love the look, and for a time and maybe for some people still it was for status reasons.  I've heard the quality is very good although since they expanded their commercial store presence and had to increase production, maybe there have been changes to that?  I heard that they had some china manufacturing more recently.  And also a good point that was made is that there are many. Knock offs now too.

They are still high end, and very expensive.

@manny2 I agree that they are high end and expensive.  But they no longer seem exclusive - that has been watered down.

@SportyShorty07 What a beautiful and versatile Celine - and a great classic color as well! You can definitely wear this beauty with many different outfits! Continue to wear in good health Smiley Happy

And thanks so much again for your kind words - I indeed enjoy wearing my Speedy 25 as a pop of color with neutral outfits - especially black, white and grey. And yes, I like to wear a coordinating lipstick for an additional pop of color - my favorite is Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "The 405" - a lovely tomato red like my Speedy. Manicure is a soft pink e.g. Essie Ballet Slippers or Essie Mademoiselle as those shades go with everything (also flattering to my not so long fingers). Smiley Happy Heart

I think only lately people have been into the monogrammed bag and also the Speedy 25 although not as much as the other style is a current trend just like everyone wore Coach bags. When they went mainstream they were all over and not so exclusive. I guess it’s attainable luxury. I don’t follow trends and I would never pay maybe more than 150.00 for a bag. I no longer buy Dooneys as I find the way they design the zippers are not practical and yes they are heavy. I look for understated and functional.
