no outside pockets for quick in/out

top does not zip closed

no organization of any kind

not a cross-body

not wide enough to put a regular size wallet in it

not easy to get in and out of without scraping your knuckles of zippers

the inside in not just a bucket where things are flying around in

not light weight but heavy even when empty

the inside is not a light enough color so you can see your stuff easily

not easy to keep clean inside and outside

NOT EXPENSIVE!I won't pay much for a handbag.

#1. Tassels that are TOO large.

#2. Crossbody straps that are "adjustable" but still too short.

#3. Imitation leather.

Crossbody--loathe them.

Armpit-length handles.

Black interior.

Too heavy.

Only one interior pocket.

Washable or at least can be wiped down.

Having said that, I'm currently carrying a Lisa Robertson bag with an insert I picked up years ago on QVC.  The handles are short, and it has to be dry cleaned (have yet to find one that's PERC free), but it holds a ton, and access is a breeze.

Short handles, bright gold hardware, dark interiors, no outside pockets. I must have outside pockets, at least one, preferably two. And not too heavy. I have two Dooneys I don't use anymore because they are so heavy. I do prefer a crossbody because it's great to be hands free.

My preferences are:

quality soft leather and nylon bags,

size in the range of 14x12x5,

longer, double handles, no skinny handles,

no to bags with double handles; short ones and a detachable shoulder strap,

no to bags where the shoulder straps attach oddly to the front and back of the bag, 

easy fluid zipper top,

outside zip and drop pockets,

inside zip and drop pockets,

inside card slots,

contrasting inner lining, stripes are nice; no         black abyss,

no fringe, no studs, no heavy tags, no feathers, no “cutesy” animals,

metal feet

I look for keeper quality bags, $200 is my limit, but rarely do I pay more than $150.

I like to have a pocket on the outside; handles plus strap for shoulder or crossbody; leather (I usually like pebble, soft leather).

May I add the most important -- Weight of the bag.  If it weighs too much, I won't buy it.
