I was thinking of getting my daughter a Dooney Ginger Pouchette in Mint for Christmas. She is 12 (will be 13 before long). Do you think that is ridiculous? I really didn't think so until one of my friends told me how weird she thought that was *gasp*. Weird? My daughter is pretty responsible. I would rather buy her something quality and have it last her and she can feel happy about than something crappy that will just fall apart anyway. Plus I got it on clearance and another 25% off of that so it isn't like I paid retail. Now I'm starting to feel strange about it. Is this strange???

I think that mint Dooney sounds perfect for a young girl.

I know when I "wrapped" Bat Mitzvah checks in Dooney wristlets for my nieces, they were more thrilled with those than with the checks which they just handed to their parents.

I don't think it's too young at all and the one you picked out looks to be perfect!  She will LOVE it!  When I was around 12 or 13 my Mom gave me a ~real~ suede envelope style bag in brown.  It had a zip top and I was over the moon I loved it so much!  I carried it to school every day and kept that bag clean and brushed (suede) and really took care of it....  as you can see, I remember that handbag vividly!  I think she will too... enjoy your daughter on Christmas morning~!!
