I only carry a small crossbody. 9x6 or smaller. I only carry 6 or 7 items. Sunglasses, a couple of aspirin, keys, chapstick, phone and Kleenex. If the purse has credit card slots I can eliminate the credit card case.

I too go to a smaller bag 90% of the tme, right now my bag is a larger than normal bag, it's easier for me when we're traveling.

I almost ordered this bag in a different color, thinking it beautiful but then noticed the depth isn't as significant as I like. Things tend to pile up in narrow bags and I don't like having to search. They also can look misshapen when carrying even minimally bulky items. Still, a pretty purse.

I also like a small lightweight bag most of the time.

I carry: my phone, key fob, mini packet of tissues, two lipsticks and small wallet. 

If it's raining I will use a slightly larger bag to hold a small umbrella.

I've gone smaller as some others too to keep the weight down.  Recently bought this MZ WALLACE Tote 9.5"x8.25"x4".  Size works great for me, don't carry a lot any longer.
