Not to be outdone, by offering expensive high end and actual antique jewelry, Gem Shopping on occasions would offer designer handbag.  A couple of weeks ago, they offered a Hermes Birkin bag.  They would sell off  Chanel, Gucci, Prada, etc. from 1920's to 1970's bags.  It was strange looking at the bags. This was before the extra pouch in front & back because there wasn't any cell phones. In addition, I don't remember ever seeing a strap.  These were real hand bags.  That's how you carried the bag...on your arm.  All the bags were numbered and had certificates with them. I wonder how much the women got paid for selling off these classic bags.  These were really old time bags.  Beautiful leather though. Some were real alligator.

In addition to the bags, they once offered a solid 14K evening  pouch with a chain.  The actual fabric was gold sewn together with a gold closure.  The actual weight was something 154 grams of gold.
