I hsve counted all my handbags. Drum roll please! i have:
B. Makowsky - 1
Bags Purchsased in Italy - 2
Etienne Aigner - 2 (1 was gift)
Tignanello - 3
Vintage Gucci (counting Mom's) - 3
Coach - 7 (4 were gifts)
Dooney - 14 (3 were gifts)
Total - 32
i suppose that doesn't sound like much to many of you. I am expecting the Dooney Clayton from my DH for Christmas. And my goal is to purchase one high end bag someday.
That seems like a reasonable number to me, and actually, it still seems like quite a bit. Consider that there are many women out there who litereally have a couple of bags and those who carry a single bag until they wear it out and then go get a new one. I don't know, Maria, that Dooney number has The Headmistress giving pause.
Remember, the average, sane person should not be comparing herself to EEL... hehehehehe... or, for that matter, to me...
@stevieb I never said I was sane!! LOL. In any event, i used to be one of those women who only had a couple of bags. I blame QVC for the number in my current collection. It wasn't until I started watching QVC that I got really interested in handbags. But ironically I have only purchased one or 2 bags from the Q.
Please, please ask the Headmistress for mercy! I have been relatively good in the handbag department. Haven't purchased one since May.. and before that it was January. I hope The Headmistress is still considering offering me a post as adjunct faculty..

@EdithEllenLily wrote:BC @Boehm Collector, you are brave to show us your list! To me, it looks very reasonable. Nice assortment of brands, too. The only thing I would not do (and I think you know about it already) is to buy an expensive, high-end bag. I just can't see spending a huge amount of money on one handbag, but that's just my opinion. If you want to do it, GO FOR IT (and tell us what you choose one day)! Have fun looking around, EEL
Hi EEL ... yes I know you would not buy an expensive, high-end bag. But I figure it would be a once in a life-time purchase for me... if I ever even get brave enough to go through with it. That still remains to be seen.

@Boehm Collector I think @Sister Golden Hair has one of these!
@Serendipity and @Sister Golden Hair. They are definitely nice bags. Sister .. which one do you have? As much as I like them.... I am holding off purchasing any more handbags (at least I am trying) so that some day I will be able to purchase a high-end bag.

@Serendipity wrote:@Boehm Collector @stevieb I'm glad someone posted the D&B to see! I don't think I will go with this one though, it seems that once again it is 1/2 inch to 1 inch to short for me. I really have to wonder why they constantly do that. Do they save money? Is it intentional design? Anyway, it makes it an easy decision for me.
I'm not purchasing it either

@Serendipity I agree.. this really does ruin the bag. If it weren't for this it would be a really nice bag.

@Serendipity VERY pretty ring ... wish it came in 14k gold as I don't normally wear silver. But if it came in gold I probably would not be able to afford it. But, in any event, I will not be purchasing it.

Nope, not at all. I've been very good with handbags lately. Only being tempted by a $60-something Sak black crossbody, because I have been searching for an everyday black crossbody (and @Sister Golden Hairhas and likes this bag too), but I have not ordered it yet. I'm trying to go a month and then may do so. Other than that, I'm hoping to find a small Burberry Mildenhall around the holidays. If it's not available, I may opt for a medium Mildenhall before that one sells out too. My handbag hankering has been somewhat muted lately.
@Serendipity.... good to know. I was beginning to think I was in this alone. LOL. The Mildenhall (small or medium) is definitely a lovely bag. But I don't think I would get too much use out of it given my life style. Seem a bit too fancy.

@EdithEllenLily By the way, your sunshine comment made my day!

@Boehm Collector Nope, still in it too! Interesting your take on the Mildenhall. For me, I find it like an everyday day or night bag (not for running around errands, but certainly outings) -- in black. I think it could go with almost anything. But I've seen it in person, so maybe that makes a difference. The leather is very strong and rich and the back side of the flap is entirely suede. Oh my. Three more months or so to go!

@Boehm Collector Yes, I wish it had more rose gold to it. But that is why it's probably more affordable. Although I wonder about gem quality too,
