I've paid that in the past but it'd have to be very special to do that today.  I swear by Brahmin bags. I have a couple that I've used for 10 years and they still look like new. And they aren't as heavy as many brands.

Re: Handbag Price

[ Edited ]

The most I ever spent on a bag was recently. I bought a Michael Kors purse at TJ Maxx for $170. It was exactly what I had been looking for, and I knew I would compare every bag I would find afterwards to it if I didn't buy it. When I got home, I looked online, and Macy's and the Michael Kors website were still selling it in the same color I bought. The prices ranged from the high 200's (on sale at Macy's) to the high 300's for the same bag.

I won't mention how much I've paid (too embarrassed) but I have a serious designer handbag and jewelry addiction...YIKES. Smiley Embarassed Never purchased a bag from QVC

Depends on my current lifestyle, needs, and wallet.

i paid a lot for my Chanel handbags when I was working, but I saw them as investments.  Taking very good care of them, my like new Chanels' are selling for much more used than I paid new.

Quality leather and construction, and longevity are what I look for.  I paid $550 for my everyday Italian made handbag that has lasted for years.  I'm not into seasonal handbags, different colors, so around $500-$600 is reasonable to me considering I use it all year long.

I have only bought Stone Mountain shoulder bags since the 70s. I only own one bag at a time and these things last for years. Last one I bought about 5 years ago was about 130.00. Don't see the need of having a bunch of different purses.

I have paid $2,500 and that's probably as high as I would go. The last few bags I bought were probably under $300.

Probably no more than $3000, but I've got a luxury handbag fetish. It depends though. My Gucci horsebit was around $2650 (a gift from hubby). I wear it all Fall and Winter--I don't usually swap out bags daily. It has a webbing strap for crossbody, a gold chain for a short shoulder, or I can detach both and wear it as a clutch. And because of the quality, it's a bag I will have for the rest of my life, so the cost-per-wear is reasonable.
