Handbag Brands you don’t get.

Obviously this is my opinion but since this is a forum where we can share I’ll go first. Vera Bradley bags attract people to their various prints but I think they look matronly and like a bag you can put your knitting or crochet items in. The other one is Patricia Nash, I really don’t get the hype as they seem to be quite ordinary and overpriced for what they are. I also can’t get past her map print on some bags and I’m a history teacher. Ok now it’s your turn.

Since I view handbags as a purely functional item and not as a fashion statement, any bag over the price of $50/$60 I don't understand!

One brand in particular that I never understood its popularity was Kathy Van Zeeland--so heavy looking and expensive.  I wonder if those who purchased those bags years ago are still using them????

I admit I did get a Kathy van zeeland because at the time I liked the bling😊now I like more refined understated styles that are more versatile.

Anything cloth. They are constantly saggy, dirty and mostly don't look good after a short period of time. Not a fan of Vera Bradley (cloth and loud prints), Patricia Nash (wild prints) Michael Kors ( just don't get the attraction). Not a fan of saffino leather either. I think it looks like cheap leather over cardboard.

@Allthingsgirly67.  I agree with you on both counts.  I think many of the Vera Bradley prints are very pretty but I wear many print shirts and two unrelated prints on one person just don't work.

I've had several PN bags and there's always some aspect of them that isn't functional and annoys the heck out of me,  plus the leather is always stiff and hard.  I feel they're designed without much thought as to how they'll function.

@kaydee50   I agree with you about bags being a purchase I make based on function more than any other aspect.

I have zero brand loyalties for handbags.

Two of my all-time favorite bags are Vera Bradley single color totes.  One black, the other red.  Each gets compliments nearly time I carry them.

Even if that were not true -  I'd love those bags for their convenience and the comfort for my sholders and back.

I always think of diaper bags when I see a Vera Bradly print bag, I only carried Dooney bags for the longest time but they are just too heavy and now it seems everyone and their brother is carrying them. I don't get the 'big' designer names, such as Gucci or YVL, I guess because I don't the the bank balance to pay thousands for a bag!

Dooney. I don't like them. Never did, and you could never sell me one no matter how hard you tried. I never considered this a designer brand.

I especially dislike that satchel zip style.

I dislike this style bag by any designer. Ñever saw the draw to the LV bag in this style either. I think D&B based their bag on that particular LV bag.

It looks like a bowling ball bag; and I hate the way the handle sticks out when a crossbody strap is attached to it.
