I actually have mine hanging on hangers in the closet in my office. It sounds weird but it works perfectly. I just drape the handles over the top of the hanger and then they hang down perfectly and I can see what I have. I have one of the purse hangers from Bed, Bath and Beyond hanging in there and I have my clutches and wallets in it.

Years ago I stocked up with tons of IKEA window boxes I got specifically for my purses. I'm so glad I got them when I did because I don't think they carry the window boxes anymore. My purses are neatly resting, dust free, on the upper shelves in my walk-in closet.

I had a grid of open white cubbies built floor to ceiling, and it holds about 30. The ceiling is vaulted, so the builtin is rather tall. I think it has 26 storage spots in it but I can get more than one smaller crossbody bag in a couple of the cubbies. I still to store some on closet shelves (a) because even though I have sold a few on eBay to make room, I still buy if I fall in love with something, and (b) because some bags are too big for the cubicles. I may have another open grid unit built with some larger cubbies. I store hendustbags inside the handbags, because I need to see what I have. I often grab a different bag every day.

Since leather is supposed to breathe, I hang my purses from 3M hooks attached to wall in my large hall coat closet. They use up the blank wall at your shoulder as you look into the closet.
They get wiped down with Dawn so no white stuff appears on them. ( Evidently I don't have a lot of handbags from the posts I have read, lol. )

@Kachina624 You are right and leather handbags should never be stored in plastic.

I keep all my handbags in their dust covers or white cotton pillowcases.
I took a picture of the bag and the picture is on the outside of each bag.
Leather should never be stored in plastic. Moisture can cause mildew.
