I am looking for clear bags or acrylic boxes for my handbags. I would like something that I can stack on my closet shelves to protect the bags and also to be able to see what I have. Any ideas would be very helpful. :-)

I use dust bags or pillow cases,
clear boxes probably would need more space and a bit more money.
Look at container store or even pinterest, I'd imagine there are 1000s of ideas over there

Mine are on shelves in my closed. All have been removed from their dust covers because I wanted to be able to see what I have.

Hi Barbie100!
I use the "park a purse" contraption that's available at bed/bath/beyond. It's essentially a 2-level cubby for purses that has inserts you can use or not use, depending on purse size, etc. I like it for several reasons: 1) good for neater/cleaner organization and protection of purses, yet I can see all my handbags at once, selecting what I need quickly and easily. I just don't use the dust bags because they're too much trouble, but the park a purse helps keep the dust away, too. I switch out handbags so often that the dust bags are a nuisance. 2) it gives me more room in my closet because it's 2-level of cubbie holes. Before all my purses, were on the top shelf of my closet. With this, I have an extra level. Plus, the top part of the park a purse (which is flat) I use to store pillows, blankets, etc. 3) I can set my purses to stand up in the cubbies, or I can lay them flat in the cubbies, which is the case for some of my Dooney and Bourkes that have more of a satchel or bigger silhouettes. Been using them for 2-3 years now, and it has just cleaned up my closet. Looks professionals almost. Worth the cost, too. In fact, my mother was in my closet last month "shopping" for a purse, and she had no trouble seeing what I had.
Hope you find the perfect solution to what I think is a good problem to have--one can never have too many handbags IMO!

What I have always found helpful for storing various things are the clear plastic containers that come with blankets or comfortors or sometimes store bought curtains or draperies! They are soft and come with zippers! I have some of my handbags in those! But I don't think that they can be purchased alone! I always save them and usually find a good use for them!

I don't think I'd use plastic or acrylic ... any long term contact with the plastic or acrylic might damage the surface of the leather bag. Probably better wrapping in tissue before putting it into anything plastic.

I've heard that you shouldn't store leather bags in plastic bins or bags as the leather can't "breathe". Anyone know anymore about this?

My pleasure. I have 3 in my closet, btw. But who's counting?
