EVEN COACH HAS GONE DOWNHILL

Coach appears to be struggling. They have just announced that they are changing their brand name to Tapestry. For years, I purchased mainly Coach bags and loved each one. The quality was superb, yet they didn't have the sameness that bores me to tears with Dooney & Bourke. I am so sorry to see what appears to be the slow demise of Coach. Many of QVC's current handbag lines seem to have a flashy, overdecorated style that will make them expensively dated within a short time. I long for rich classics - handbags that cost a fair amount but that will age well and become supple and worn in like beloved jeans and that I'll want to carry for years.

You must be reading my mind becuse I agree with every comment you made.  I have many older Coach bags that I rotate and they feel like olf friends when I pull then out again.  Such beautiful leather, soft and supple.  I don't care for Dooney, to hard.  It's a shame they are changing the name, it's an iconic brand.  I read they are purchasing Kate Spade, I hope if the do the continue the Kate Spade vibe.

I gave up on Coach years ago, about the time handbag companies were bringing out their fabric versions with their logos all over them. Didn't like that then and still don't. Coach was never able to lure me back after that.

I still love leather bags, my latest purchase is a black Eva Charleston from Brahmin. It's decadent.

Doesn't Coach have a higher-end line now, Coach 1941 with prices north of $500?

I bought a beautiful Coach crossbody at an outlet store and I'm very pleased.

The PARENT COMPANY is changing their name.   "Coach" bags will still be Coach bags.   (The company also owns Kate Spade, which will remain Kate Spade.)

They also own Stewart Weitzman.
