I just got this bag below. THey say the straps are adjustable. I almost believe it by the way they look. The leather is SO stiff, I can't get them "undone" to adjust them to the next hole for the knob. Is there at trick I don't know about???? I appreciate any help.

I have that style and I have arthritis.  My "trick" was to ask my burly next door neighbor over for a beer and for him to wrestle the leather slot onto the next pin.  One other time I took it to a shoe repair shop and they felt sorry for me and adjusted it no charge.

From now on, I am going with a buckle style.

I have one bag with a similar situation...I have found no trick...just wrangle the thing until the leather loosens up, as it's pretty stiff when it's new

That's what I don't like about Dooney -- heavy leather straps and by the time you fill up your handbag it weighs 10 lbs.  If there are other notches on the strap it is adjustable.  I know what you mean about stiff leather -- I hate it.    Kate Spade has a sale going on now up to 75% off and they have some lovely soft, pebble leather bags.

@Quse,   I heard that the other day that Coach purchased Kate Spade.  I hope they keep the good sales they offer.  Years ago the sales were way better.

@Felixfan It looks like both the strap and the leather connectors to the bag can be adjusted, though not by much. But good luck getting that stiff leather unfastened from the metal 'beads' on one or both and then refastened. It can be done, but will take some elbow grease.

I just gave up, got used to it as was and vowed never to buy a bag again with that kind of strap!!!!!!!

I have two Dooneys with that kind of strap and managed to adjust them after a lot of struggling. That was a couple of years ago before I had such bad arthritis in my hands. Never again!
