@Kachina624 The towns above Trenton, N.J. & closer to N.Y. are worse off than below (South Jersey) *to date.*
The governors of NY, NJ, Del & CT are suppose to meet this week if not already meeting to discuss cordination of what to do next regarding shutdowns, closing the boarders, etc. Right now, N.J. does not want us to go to N.Y. or P.A. unless you are an essential worker. NO "holiday" gatherings either. Indoor restaurants, bars, etc are to close at 10:00p.
I suspect, soon Gov Murphy will finally enforce "wearing masks" through an executive order instead of waiting for folks to "do the right thing." A few establisments have already lost their licenses for not "doing the right thing."

I still love some of my bags and I rotate them constantly so they can take a ride in with me to pick up groceries. Call me crazy but if it's a real favorite I sit it on my dresser just so I can enjoy looking at it. I have a ridiculous number of bags (all Dooneys and other brands) ready to sell down the road) I'm not a small cross body person so they are out for me.

I still love the ones I have left, which aren't many. But I don't use them anymore. I haven't since well before Covid started. They're just too heavy and cumbersome for me now.

I still loved all my bags, but reality set in...
I started collecting handbags in my early 40's...never had more than one handbag up until then. I had a wonderful collection of mainly D&B which I finally gave to charity...all but 3.
I'm 60 now. Over the years I have read posts of ladies who couldn't carry heavy handbags anymore. I was in denial of that ever happening to me. Welp, it has hit home...depressing as it is. I lifted up my large florentine bags with nothing in them and they just had to go.
Another factor is that I have come to really LOVE Lug bags/totes/crossbodys. I have 4 of the Charter (navy, walnut, black and crimson)...midsize, lightweight & very organized. The various small crossbody bags have suited me perfectly since even before the pandemic.
I wish I could turn back the clock and never acquired all those D&B bags. As another poster mentioned, it does amount to a small fortune. Weighing out the pluses and minuses of keeping them took several months. I loved the bags, but what good are they if they just take up space and not used anymore. It's not like my closet is set up as a museum...with them all sitting in display cases with lighting...LOL
Other factors I thought about was it's only my husband and I...no family members want my D&B collection and we have no children either. I don't want to burden my DH (if anything happened to me) with having to deal with them. Living in a small home and claiming back prime real estate in my armoire was a great feeling too. So after a lot of serious thinking, I let the D&B collection go.
A couple of years ago I gave away my collection of Vera Bradley. So now I'm just down to a few D&B (small-mid size) and the various Lug bags which store flat.
Several months later, I have no regrets.

I've never carried big bags. I usually carry nothing more than 10x9 but recently I found I only want organizer bags so I don't have to carry a wallet. Most of my bags are Brighton. I have several Brahmin but I'm not all that in love with them, a few Coach which are ok. I do have a few old Brahmin that has a built in wallet that I like. I just don't need to carry that much anymore. Keys, phone, cards, sanitizer, lip balm and a few Kleenex. I'm thinking about selling them one by one.

I've got way too many bags and even before this mess ensued, I'd long been wishing I could return most of them and have the cash instead. There are, of course, a number that I still love and would not want to part with, but most of them wouldn't be missed. I'm not getting out much these days but when I do go out, I don't find I need to carry any less, so smaller bags have not been any kind of 'go-to' for me. I am, though, enjoying some of my lighter bags simply because it's all become such a hassle not choosing an unduly heavy bag is just one less thing to have to manage.

I just switched to a Red Suede purse my husband bought me last year. I think since March I have carried a purse exactly twice.
Makes me nuts that I have all those handbags just sitting there but I am not going anywhere don't anticipate going anywhere anytime soon.

I still go a few places weekly - grocery store, Walgreens (and gas station for lottery tickets - haha). I also went to Kohl's a couple of weeks ago, so I still carry a bag. Even though I have a closet full of D&B, Brahmin and a few others, I bought a smaller, coated cottom Michael Kors satchel this year because it's lighter weight than my leather bags. I'll box up a few of the leather bags again this year and send them to my cousin and her daughter....they are always appreciative and it makes me happy that my bags find a new and happy home!

I absolutely still love them all! And use them (although I barely go out too). It will get better sometime! Have faith and keep them!

I had too many handbags starting with collecting Croco Fino D&Bs a few years ago and moving on to Henri Bendel, MZ Wallace and Lug with several other brands mixed in here and there. Even before the virus that has changed our lives, I was fortunate to get busy on whittling down my handbags. Some were donated, some were sold at a yard sale, some were given as gifts, some were and are being sold at a resale shop that accepts mid-range handbags. I cannot do heavy leather handbags anymore and opt for lightweight nylon bags, which are easy to wipe clean when you've been out in this virus environment. I still enjoy finding handbags that are right for right now...and I love the ones I still have.
