I'm pretty sure you know that cracks in the handle is not the "norm" for any handbag but you didn't say when you bought the bag or where you bought it from.  Check the Coach website, I'm sure you'll find the warranty information.  Perhaps even information regarding repairs that you can pay for after the warranty has expired.

I have many Coach bags and never ever had a problem with any of them. MK on the other hand - well let's say I will never own another one!

I know that they guarantee their bags - look online for their customer service number, and ask them where to send it. years ago I had a smooth suede Coach bag that need repair, and I sent it back to be refurbished. all I paid was shipping and it looks like new.
