Care of R.Riveter Bags

I have a couple of their cotton canvas bags, and was wondering if it is a good idea to spray them with Scotchguard to prevent stains? I think someone mentioned that here once. Their web site just says use water to wash stains off. I would rather prevent them, but thought Scotchguard might discolor the fabric.Thanks, Susi.

@Susic  I don't have Riveter bags but Scotchguard can discolor (yellow) light color fabrics. You won't notice it on a medium or dark color.  If it was me I'd try to reach them and ask before I did the Scothguard.

Thanks, guess I will. I have a dark colored one , but blush color en route, don't want to ruin it.
