@Pecky @teganslaw @Leeny I think a few of you were curious about this one. If not, just ignore these comments. Anyway, I went back and looked for more information but it looks like I only saved the picture. It was a TJ's bag. I don't believe it was excessively pricey, I want to say in the $150 neighborhood. No recollection of brand, but suspect it was one of the obscure Italian brands TJ Maxx offers from time to time.

Hard as it is, I believe I've long since reached that stage when it makes a lot more sense to be divesting than accumulating. Like many of us, I've known that for some time and made sporadic efforts to stop the insanity of handbag acquisition, with, well, only sporadic results. I'm recommitting myself to trying. Given the number I already own, the new ones sitting around unused and the meager number of places I'm going these days, it really is throwing good money after bad to continue this nonsense. Not saying I'll never buy another purse, but I'm sure going to try to be a lot more reasonable than I've been to this point.

Thanks for the info on the blue bag. I know how that can go with missing out. Being your going to refrain from further handbag purchases for awhile it is best it go away I feel pretty much like you do. In fact my daughter I am sure is thinking where is that red Coach Pennee bag I purchased you last Christmas? It's in the closet a long with the rest of my collection. I am going to try and refrain, except for the Valentino and the Mark& Graham build your bag in Navy. I hope I can stick to my guns. We've discussed this previously, we have a problem

@stevieb I nearly choked on my Cheeto when I read the comment about the DMV being a cauldron of humanity. Honest to Pete, that summed it up perfectly.

Sweet @SharkE I didn't know that you lost your beloved this past June and I offer my most sincere sympathy.

@Bird mama yep back in June he had massive coronary dead in 2 hrs.
I"m luckier then most, got a lot accomplished on my own in 4 months.
Just ordered a gold bracelet (I'm shallow LOL) to cheer myself up over in Jewelry you'll read about it. All the changes and ups and downs I've had I deserve to buy myself a nice gift. Church folk have been a big help to me.
I could move back to Ind. So much trouble and have to go thru all this paperwork and alert different places of changes think I'll just die in Tx be lot less work. ROFL

@SharkE I read the post in the jewelry forum, the bracelet is beautiful. When my husband died somewhat unexpectedly years ago, I hadn't ever lost someone that close to me or planned a funeral. I can't speak for anyone else.... I didn't really get a chance to digest the loss before I had to start all of the notifying and rigamarole. I understood even then that these things were necessary however it felt like I was erasing traces of his existence. He wasn't just a name or account number to me like he was to everyone else I was notifying.
It's traumatic on top of an already sorrowful situation. My point is, treating yourself to the new bracelet is not shallow.

your right. stuff has to be tended too. Bank accounts and new checks ordered, credit cards paid off and stopped in his name, legally your not responsible for debts if not in your name, too, but, wasn't that much and I just wanted to be rid of the flash back they could threaten you, blah, blah,
Pension stuff was a nitemare ! you have to pay back the months that came in his name after his death, then, they give it back to you, so ,stupiid.
have to prove, legal proof via death certificate, one place even wanted a copy of the will before they would transfer assets to my finance guy !
that's nerve ! He had stuff scattered I consildated all assets to one entity.
Takes phone calls in offices, 3 way phone calls, etc. on and on.
People coming up to you asking "are you staying in your house"? You'll marry again, on and on you want to scream out loud. I just added security alarm system best money I spent in long time now I can sleep without jumping at the icemaker sounds. LOL

Given my new resolve to minimize bag acquisitions from now on, one thing that helps a lot is to leave things in your cart (no, not here) for so long that they either disappear or the sale price goes up. Has now happened three times this week. Two Kiplings on sale via Target went off sale (actually, one remains on sale, but the 'sale price' went up) and once at The Maxx, where the bag sold out. The Kiplings got deleted from my cart. Liked them both but not at the higher price. I decided one of them is larger than I want anyway, but such a pretty royal blue color. If the other, in white, goes on a real sale again, I'll have to give it some thought.

I do the cart thing all the time. It's like a way of thinking you are "maybe" planning on buying without buying. This has saved me a lot of money on a lot of different things including handbags. Then of course this is how I lost my V bag. I love it when the clearance prices/sale prices go up after a time. it didn't sell at the higher price so they sale it and then raise the price even higher after awhile. Go figure???
