@Boehm Collector wrote:I have a question for @jaxs mom and @1Professor and everyone else who owns a LL hobo. I have read some reviews that stated the Logo Lock falls apart. Have any of you had this problem? And if so did you return it to Dooney to be repaired?
I haven't had that happen. You'd think they should be able to repair it thoughh, since they are still making the bag

Well Ladies ..today the LL gets all packed up ...so DH can hide it. I will not see it again until mid-April
But I made sure to register the bag on the Dooney Website .. in the event the Logo Lock breaks ... I've read in the reviews that sometimes it falls apart. This way I can return it to Dooney to be repaired. I didn't want to wait until April to do it since DH purchased it in February. Don't know whether that would have made a difference.
@Boehm Collector: I think you were wise to register it. I noticed on EBay that some sellers are attempting to sell LL bags with broken locks, so they must be ubiquitous. I wouldn't buy one in that condition, but l guess some people would!

@stevieb I imagine this has to do with having to move all your belongings etc. in your place. I'm still cleaning and organizing after they did work in my apt. It makes you realize you have so much stuff.
Yes @NycVixen that's exactly why I've reached this conclusion. I saw box after box of art, objects, decorative items and handbags going out the door to the point where it was actually a bit embarassing. I told the guys I sell on ebay to justify that volume of stuff. I know I don't have to justify anything to anyone, but it was unbelievable. I just hope my more valued items, bags among them, come back. I have no reason not to trust these people, but there was so much I'm just not sure the inventory they took could possibly have captured it all. I saw them close the lid on one beautiful unused Dooney bag and several LV bags. I tried to skim some of my favorites, but to have thought that I could go through them all and take out all the best or most costly, well, it just couldn't be done. I had neither the time nor the energy and, at the end of the day, no place to put it all, obviously, hence its having to be moved...
The real pisser, at the end of the process, the man came to inspect the floor and after all that packing and moving there was one small spot of dampness... NONE of this needed to be done. But, since it had been done and since the truck was loaded, I told them to take it. Management here is paying to store it for up to a month and I figure that will give us time to paint the celing, which must be done because of the water infiltration, clean the carpet and patch and paint a small area on the wall, again because of water. Now that the room is empty enough to be manageable, I'm thinking I'm going to move into and when all that stuff comes back, I'll parcel it out to my moms, to a storage shed at her house and to one of the smaller bedrooms. It has never made much sense for the master bedroom to be used for storage, even though I prefer the small bedroom I use because it overlooks the creek and woods. We'll see.
I'm exhausted. I got very little sleep last night and today was beyond stressful but I need to fix something for dinner. Perhaps I'll catch up more later.
Oh, for whatever it's worth... one of the guys was very cute...
What an ordeal @stevieb!! Well, those repairs can now get started and you won't have to worry about the painters covering your items with drop cloths. When the boxes come back, consider donating some of the less expensive items right away and maybe try the ebay valet service on something more expensive to see how much you get? It might be easier to have others do the selling work for you on those more expensive items you don't use. Then you will be left with the items you love and use!
And since I can actually now get to the two closets in the room, the local Good Will is about to get an infusion of clothes that I don't wear... Both closets also house a small part of the bag collection, so some of those can go too, but oh my, EEL, the volume of stuff that went out of here was mind-blowing... Just sifting through all that ****** when it comes back is going to take days... @EdithEllenLily. And, of course, last night and today I've already got a short list of things that went that I really intended to keep here, some of it because I was planning to use it, but I guess that's just too bad... I'll get by without it because I have to !!
Hi @stevieb and @EdithEllenLily .. I try to periodically go through my things to purge items I no longer use or don't like. The items that are in bad shape get thrown out. The new items.. that often still have tags on them.. and the ones that are in great shape I either give to my cleaning woman or I donate them. There isn't anything my cleaning woman refuses to take. Many of my clothes she gives to her daughter. My DH has given her Dad brand new sweaters that he has never worn. He seems to get a lot of sweaters from people for some reason ..but he never wears sweaters.
Hi @Boehm Collector You sound like you keep up with everything on a regular basis! That's good. I keep up with my clothes with periodic donations to Goodwill, but as you all know by now, I have trouble parting with my handbags. I am thankful for my sister's yearly summer garage sale where I sell some of the less expensive ones.
@EdithEllenLily .. I also have a difficult time giving my handbags away.. but I have given my cleaning woman a few. She carried a nylon Michael Kors bag I gave her all the time.
Oh my goodness @Boehm Collector!!! I just figured out why I buy so many handbags: I AM THE CLEANING WOMAN!!! Hahahaha!
ME TOO, @EdithEllenLily!! LOL.

@EdithEllenLily wrote:Yes @stevieb, it's another really boring Q weekend! Did you get out today? We went way out northwest to see my nephew play in a basketball game, which was fun. His team won 26-25, so it was pretty exciting! Then tonight we went to Half Price Books to sell some books and use a 20 percent off our whole order coupon. I found some more mysteries for Mom. I have to keep working on finding the next set or two because she is such a reader! Today I brought her the Nancy Atherton Aunt Dimity books and she was happy to get started on something new.
@EdithEllenLily... The Atherton books are very pleasant... Good mysteries, but nice ones, murder and mayhem are rare and there is that element of the 'other world'. Hoping you've laid in others for her, only because while they're very pleasant, it is nice to mix them up with something a little more intense.
No, I haven't been out since Thursday. Yesterday, well, speaks for itself and today was cold and so windy I opted to lay around read, watch The Devil Wears Prada (again) and nap. I haven't done anything worthwhile all day... And I don't care!!
Maybe I'll head out tomorrow. We'll see. I should get to work around this apartment... but I really don't want to.
I think it's good you rested and read today @stevieb! You have had a lot of stress this week and especially yesterday. You'll have more energy on another day. You needed a break, girl!
I have a few other books for Mom but she's very methodical. I think I'll bring a couple of others over, though, just in case she wants a diversion. Thanks for the recommendation.
Do you know I have never seen that movie you mentioned above? I know the premise and the characters, but have just not seen it. Hmmm.
What would really be nice is a trip... Away from it all... but this isn't the time.
As for the movie, it's fun, a little thin and I'm not an Anne Hathaway fan, but Streep is always good and the fashions are worth the investment of time... I've seen it before but there was nothing on TV and I didn't feel like either company or reading, so there you are... Interesting scene in which the 'heroine' is giving away items sent as promotional gifts to 'the devil' that she doles out to friends because 'the devil' didn't want them. Included was a gorgeous Marc Jacobs couture satchel in blue... I definitely should've sought a high level job in either fashion or fashion magazine editing... If you want to catch it, I think E is running it back to back.
Thanks @stevieb. I'll try to find that movie. As for the trip, especially with this ice cold weather, I'm with you. A few days in Florida would be a nice respite...Miami, Boca, Delray Beach...and I've always wanted to check out St. Augustine...

LOL @Boehm Collector and @stevieb!!! Good one!

@EdithEllenLily wrote:I had ordered matching wallets for my LLs which didn't work out, so for two of the colors, Sage and Lavender, I ordered the Dooney pebble grain Lexington (not the Small Lexington) on ilovedooney. It's a good-sized bag:
H 12" x W 4" x L 14" One outside pocket. One inside zip pocket. Two inside pockets. Cell phone pocket. Inside key hook. Strap drop length: 12". Lined. Feet. Zipper closure.
I have this Lexington in Sky Blue and enjoy carrying it in the summer. I like it that it's not heavy, either.
Still not sure if it's for me or for a future gift for someone. I really like the Sage color in person. On television it looks washed out -- but it's not.
I got it for 50 percent off, too! The Lavender, which is on its way here, was even more discounted.
Here is the Sage that arrived today:
Nice bags @EdithEllenLily .. Of course you had to replace the LL's that didn't work out. That only makes sense!!
Otherwise @Boehm Collector, I bet the poor thing would've had no bags at all...
Hehehehehe...
I've never much cared for this silhouette, but this is a very pretty color.
Oh yeah, I SEE you @stevieb! LOL
I know what you mean about the silhouette. It's a little boring. But it holds a lot and is not heavy...and I love the comfortable strap drop. It's a very practical pebble leather handbag!

Oh my @stevieb!!! I am LOL, LOL because I totally get it. You are a crack up.
All I can say is I'm so glad after seeing all of the options that I still love the TAUPE the most. It's more better. And that's a darn good thing because if we both liked the classie brown, we wud hav to mudd wressle fur it...

All right, so as the resident cynic, I have to say it, but really @Boehm Collector why bother... I mean, we're grown ups... You've already seen it... it's a great color for winter... Why not just enjoy your gift early... I mean, each to their own but this makes no real sense... He can still give you a card on your birthday.
Yes @stevieb .. you are probably right...But for some reason ...... I just prefer getting it on my 60th!!
Well @Boehm Collector you certainly know what works best for you and that's what you should do...
On the other hand, seeing as how this is such a big birthday I'd guess if you kept the bag now, you might get something else for the big day...
Either way, good that you like the bag and enjoy using it whenever you break it in.

It seems to me @handygal2, there are a number of reviews citing faulty locks. Like you, no, I wouldn't buy one with an already damaged lock, even though I'm pretty sure had I this bag, I'd not use that closure very often.
