A poll of sorts

[ Edited ]

are guitar straps on purses a fad about to expire? A long term trend? Or a new classic?

Do you like them?

Personally I find them bulky and cumbersome. Also they are often disproportionately wide or large, in relation to the size of the purse.  I think its a waning trend.

I never got on board with it in the first place, it looks cheap to me.

I guess I'm just a old fashioned gal, I like the regular handbag strap with goldtone hardware. I love crossbody

bags and the only style bag I carry now. I have multiple Dooney bags that I bought years ago now packed away. I have INKWHIP bags that I have removed the guitar strap and connected a thin strap to it. I agree, the straps are to wide, I like the bag style and RFID added feature.

Guitar straps make a bag look more sporty/casual. I think we may still see them on duffels and large totes, but their popularity is definitely waning for every day and dressier handbags. In some areas of the country I don't even think they caught on much at all. Suede is going to be trending this fall and guitar straps don't look good with that.

I have one on my crossbody bag. I carry it when I travel. I like it! I see them often in my travels. I like mine and it serves my purpose! Works for me. I put it in my tote and handle my business!

I do not like them!  Just now, I looked at two bags and did not buy because of the  strap, I did not like.  Probably just me, set in my ways, in the mid 70's.

I don't care for them. Where to store them is my problem. If you have multiple straps from different vendors what goes with what.

I have seen them for years.  I always thought of them as a strap one can buy to replace the strap in a bag because of length or condition.  It is hard to match single color materials, so a pattern can blend better.  When the purse comes with a guitar style strap, I think it is just to add interest.  Many people like colors and patterns.  I like more streamlined style, but I would get one if it met my needs.  I think they have been around as long as I can remember.

I find them too bulky and cumbersome. The designs fight with the print tops I like to wear.
