The 1941 collection of Coach classic handbags was on display at Nordies.  They are yummy!!! The leather is superb; sturdy - yet supple - lined in suede.  Gorgeous!  Oddly enough, couldn't find price tags.  I didn't ask either.  Not in the market and I know they are simply not in the budget.  It was nice to browse and feel the high quality leather, though.

Guess I could go online and check them out.

Anyone have one?

Okay, curiosity got the best of me so I went to their website to check them out.  Holy cow, I am IN LOVE with the Flower Applique Leather Saddle Bag!!!!  $695.00 though ~ OUCH!!!  Don't think I'll be making that purchase anytime soon but I sure do like the looks of the camel color...  :-)

After years of over-saturation and Coach's losing market share in the last couple of years (beaten by Michael Kors one year)..... they decided to go back to basics and these beautiful bags are the result.

However this time Coach is trying to build in some exclusivity to the brand by raising prices, which IMHO probably will not work.  Not exactly the cache of LV, Gucci, Fendi, et al, yet above the costs of Brahmin, Dooney, Brighton and the Coach of yesterday.

They're trying to get the public behind this and I personally think it's too late.  For myself, $800 up for a Coach is out of the question.  If I'm going to spend that much money on a handbag.... it's not Coach I'm after.

I personally think that after all the years of Coach's over-saturation of the market  that people are kind of bored with Coach even if they do like the new line.  I really have doubts that the public will pay what they're asking over the long term.

I have a picture of my grandmother in probably 1941 or 1942 walking doen the "avenue" where she lived with her Coach bag.  According to my mom, she was VERY proud of it!  She died right before I was born. . . I wish I had known her.

Agree... And I know I won't pay at that level for Coach bag... I'm sure some of them are fabulous, but not at that price point...

image.jpegimage.jpegI love this bag, The Rogue. Available in lots of colors, at $795. My Boss, who Loves LV, is ordering this bag in Olive.

Sigh, not in my budget😉

@Julie928 This one is beautiful -- thanks for mentioning it. I wonder how long the crossbody strap is -- doesn't say.

@Serendipity ~ Isn't it pretty?  Not sure about the length of the strap either.  Not that it matters (for me anyway) ~ I would feel so guilty spending that much for a handbag I couldn't enjoy it.  (I think :-) )!   Those prices make my Dooneys look inexpensive, lol!  :-)

Nice looking bag, but nope, not at that price.

Way too pricey for the Rogue. My Boss loves the organization. She said she can picture it being her work bag, forever. She's someone who loves really good bags, LV being her Northstar😀but she only has a few bags, she's not a collector.

The Edie is one of my favorite Coach silhouettes. Some nice organization. It's simple and classic and a nice size, unless you really need a Big bag. I'm not really an Orange person but this one grabbed me last Summer!
