hello, i need some help, and i know you guys are a well informed bunch.
i recently picked up a vintage lawn plant hanger.
it is large (6 feet across about 5 feet tall) top part looks like a wagon wheel, with hooks along the outside circumference. it attached to a pole/spike. think "carousel" original paint is green.
i have been scouring the Internet, with no luck for a image of it. i think if i had the correct name it would help.
i believe someone suggested it held strawberry baskets. ( not sure if this is true or not)
any help would be appreciated. thanks

I think your guess is probably correct but you could put any handing plant in those baskets. If you are crafty you could turn it into an outdoor chandelier with flameless candles or micro lights. Herbs could be another option but I would eliminate the pole and and bring it to table top level. Annuals would be pretty because they give so much color.

I cannot visualize what you're describing. Can you take and post a picture?

picture a metal wagon wheel, lying flat. placed on top of a pole. there are hooks on the outside of the wheel for hanging plants. can't find a photo anywhere, sorry the whole photo thing is a bit out of my comfort zone.

General idea maybe?

yes, this is basically the configuration. but the wheels are about 4 feet across, and metal.

what are your plans for this 'wagon wheel' plant hanger? I know I have seen these plant hangers out in the country. They are beautiful. You would definitely need to do a good job sinking that post into the ground.

@sktchy yes, the spike that drives down into the ground is at least 4 feet long. thinking maybe strawberries?
found these buried on our new property in weeds, and discarded tomato cages, window screens etc.
want to freshen them, and put them back in use.

About a 1/2 mile down the road someone has their Wagon Wheel planter filled with red, white and purple petunia's. I forgot about the local wheel until we drove by it.

Good luck resurrecting this find! In the right place, it would look nice.
