The giant pumpkins consume insane amounts of water. I've heard of growers using a hundred gallons of water a day per plant.

People around here (WV) get the outdated milk from grocery stores and feed it to their pumpkins. They claim it makes them sweeter, as well as helps them grow, and they are only aiming for jack-o-lantern size.
