Which trees in your areas have been most successful and/or make you the most happy as trees along your streets?

If you could share the name of the tree and the area you live, that would be appreciated.

I'm in northern California and am considering the following:

Leptospermum laevigatum / Australian tea tree

Carpinus caroliniana / American hornbeam

Olea europaea 'Swan Hill' / Swan Hill olive (fruitless olive)

plus some others

Re: Your favorite street trees?

I live in the Midwest and my favorite tree is the tri-colored beech tree.  The leaves are striped with pink, light green and dark green. I have one in my front yard.  It’s a very slow growing tree.

Arizona is usually a palm tree. Don’t really like them. They remind me of a giant Q Tip.

@software  Beautiful trees but messy! If you mean Bradford Pears they are pretty but they don't live long and split badly in storms out here in Oklahoma.

One place I lived in Southern California jacaranda trees were the street trees.  There was four blocks of the trees and when they would bloom there would be photographers there taking pictures.
