After one of the hottest, dryest summers on record, we're finally starting to get some rain. It's been raining, on and off, for the last few days. Not a gully-washer but nice gentle rain that gently soaks the ground. My flowers have hung on surprisingly well, with only an occaional watering, and now they're getting a nice, gradual soaking--just what they need.
Someone here warned me off watering my wildflowers too much (because they're used to warn, dry conditions) so I took that advice and my poppies especially look wonderful.
I love coming here, to read about other peoples' experiences and getting some good advice.
