We only had a couple on the original old feeder. Thinking they didn't like it, we put out a new one. Same sugar water ratio, no dye. No bird flu in this area. Seems like only one is visiting the new feeder.

Same here in mid-NYS. It was cold for long stretch of time and still is.
Have only seen two - assume they are a pair = nothing more.

People are killing them with lawn products like Roundup, pesticides, herbicides, and there is a lot of habitat loss due to building across the U.S. It's very sad.

My TX neighbors and I have noticed a decline in numbers this year, too. I've only have three regulars. Usually several more.
One neighbor saw a hummer sitting on a feeder, noting it hadn't moved in a couple of hours. She checked and it was dead.
I had one showing up appearing ill, too. It, atypically, just sat on the feeder most of the day, until dark. Then it was gone the next morning.
It didn't even move when one of the regulars would try to scare it away. I suspect it died. But, we haven't heard anything about illness affecting he hummers, or other birds in my area. Very suspicious, though.
It's so hot here that I'm cleaning feeders and refilling daily. It's becoming a lot of work for so few.

That one hummer also perches on the railing below the feeder for periods of time, maybe 10 minutes. We've never seen this behavior before.

Hmmmm, that's sad those of you seeing a decline...I wonder why. I'm in Central Florida and my 3 feeders are pretty busy. We also have flowering bushes that attract the hummingbirds. I sure hope your area picks up.

@depglassI live in western NY and have had only 3 Hummingbirds. I'm also curious what has happened to my little hummers.
