@Jtdmum

This is my approach to gardening.

I had anxiety when the Girl Scout troop gave me an indoor plant for my classroom to help clean the air.  I had to give it to a more capable other, and by the time I got it to her it was half dead.Cat Embarassed

@lolakimono  I thoroughly enjoy your posts.  As for this picture, I like the flowers but do not care for carved shrubbery.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I have my chain saw ready to go...cut down those awful silly shaped shrubs & it'll be picture perfect.

I agree, it's a beautiful garden.

I have seen similar gardens with the carved out shrubs all over Europe.  They are usually in very old gardens and are amazing.

i supposed they are not popular with many Americans, but I sure appreciate looking at them.

OMG, cut down the topiary gardens of Levens Hall in the Lake District of Cumbria?

It's one of the most well-known of its type and many of those Yew trees are around 300 years old and take a skilled gardener to maintain.  I can understand that they might not be everyone's cup of tea, but seeing them in person is different to seeing a single photo.

Here's a link if anyone's interested in knowing more.  Cutting them down would be sheer vandalism.

@lolakimono I may be a step up from that, but certainly not two steps!

Enjoy the day--Thanks for all the great posts! They make the day more colorful and light.

That's me too.  I had a boss who once started giving me fake plants because of the number of plants I'd over watered in years past.  Just call me brown thumb. LOL
