Garden tomatoes are a puzzle this year.  Upon opening I have such wide veins of white  that has taken over what I would expect.  It does not taste goid.  What is this?

It is a bad year for tomatoes. In some parts of the country too much heat is to blame. Tomatoes ripen at between 70-75F. If temperatures are consistently too high they don't produce the pigment needed to properly ripen.

I do not garden, but I have several sisters who do and they were just saying yesterday that their tomato harvest was dismal this year.

There are several YouTube channels from folks in other countries that show their daily lives.  I follow a very nice Russian couple who just recently showed their garden and bemoaned the fact that their tomato harvest was non- existent this year.
