Thank you for help with lilac bush

Last year another poster wrote for help with her lilac bush. I read the replies and the general consensus  was to cut it way back. My lilac bush was also looking poor so I took that advice and DH cut it back to about 18" high. This summer when we arrived at our vacation home the bush was full, beautiful and looks quite healthy. The neighbor tells us there were a few flowers, which she picked  and enjoyed since no one was here. We did continue to feed it even after we cut it back, I'm sure that helped it to grow back so nicely. Thanks to all for their advice.

I spend too much time on the beauty forum. I thought this was about lilac blush and I was wondering why you were cutting it back 😎

Re: Thank you for help with lilac bush

We have two huge lilac bushes on either side of our front porch and it's so pretty to see the purple flowers looking in the windows.  The reason I painted the interior a soft lemony cream color.

I may have to cut mine back or they will tower over our cottage some day.

They are very forgiving plants.  Ours are left to fend for themselves from November till April or May.  I've never fertilized ours.
