I think I'll try a barrier too but won't replant double impatients, even though I love them. I have a huge peony bush and (knock on wood) nothing has ever bothered it. It's close to blooming.
Thanks all

@Luv_My_Beagle you could also try covering them at the end of the day and uncover them each am. it's work, but can be effective. I had a real problem with everyone eating my flowers - tulips, lillies, etc. and it was so frustrating! At the time I found those tabletop netted tent things that people used as covers for outdoor food? They come in different sizes and that's what I used to protect my flowers. Nowadays there are some that you can buy from garden centers or catalogues, but I think the cookout mesh tents are less expensive. Just a thought! Sometimes I also added something that would firmly attach those into the ground - in case of wind.

Every year, I spray my hostas with either a cayenne pepper or habanero pepper sauce diluted in a spray bottle. Pesky rabbits were chewing them up but not after I sprayed. You have to reapply after a good rain, but it kept them and whatever else was chewing, away from them.

I have a rabbit issue too, on top of the squirrels and chipmunks that dig everything up. I've been spraying rabbit mace on my hostas but you have to re-apply every time it rains. I have also been collecting different wire containers to cover them at different sizes, plus I use forks too to discourage the chipmunks.
I have a product ordered that a lady with our local Hosta Society recommended. It's a systemic that makes the plant taste bitter. It's not cheap at $60/150 tablets, but you only have to apply once per season. Works for deer too. That's what it's advertised for.

Rabbit -Scram. On Amazon. They also make deer-scram. Squirrel-scram, etc. the Rabbit one helped, I didn't even bother trying to keep the squirrels away. They own our yard ( and the birdfeeder)....we don't have any deer here. The rabbits eat our grass down to the roots...but leave my flowers alone. Go figure.

I don't have critters, but I do have snails that eat flowers up quickly. Marigolds will be gone overnight along with impatiens.

Lots of good ideas. Those food covers are interesting and something I'd not thought of.
Like another poster said, the squirrels own our yard, too (we have lots of bird feeders). But, we have plenty of rabbits as well. We also have deer. I might buy a trail cam just to see what the culprit is...lol
Thank you so much for all of your helpful replies. It is frustrating. I get so much enjoyment from my flowers!

LOL good question.
Last summer the squirrels were stealing my SIL's almost ripe tomatoes off of her plants! Left the green ones alone! She had to get some sort of netting to cover her plants.
I have not had that happen......yet!! But, sadly the critters do love my flowers. Ugh!!
