Oh JJM- your roses are just gorgeous!  My daughter has that same touch as you- she can grow such beautiful flowers it takes my breath away.  Now as for me, I've given up!  I did plant several knock out rose bushes this year and so far I haven't killed them- yet!  What a beautiful garden.  If you need weeding services, I'm your gal.  I'm the strange one who actually enjoys weeding!  Lol.

@anniebethsmom

All of the roses pictures except 'Ebb Tide' are pretty much disease free of black spot or powdery mildew. All the roses are on their own root too.

@debic

Why is that? Is it too cold a winter by you? If so, try the Griffith Buck roses for your area.

Cold and altitude.  Our summer is very short.   The only months it's never snowed here is July and August.     I wait until it hits 50 to water just in case my hoses are froze.

Columbines, oriental poppies, and lupines grow well here.  I'm trying hostas this year.

My favorite flower! I envy you justjazzmom! And I lost most of mine through the winter from all of the snow and thawing. My husband dug up one the other week and it was finding discovering a well. And it's been raining since the snow melted. We planted those roses 9 years ago with nary a problem til this year. Woe is me.
