We will be putting our rental on the market in the spring (probably while it is still too cold to plant). I am planning ahead and trying to think of something to plant in a large pot and place by the front door on the deck. Any idea? I would like it to be colorful, since the door will be red, but that's asking a lot in March. Don't want to go artificial.

Try Croton houseplants that you can bring in after showing the rental.

@JustJazzmom Thank you. I was thinking about houseplants earlier today. That I could bring them in the house when it gets dark and then set them out again. Those big palms that are sold in the spring may look nice.

How warm is it where you are during day and is your rental available to see by appointment? If it was cool in the 40’s you could put the plants out before people show up for appointment and bring inside after they leave.

I was thinking about the reddish leafed crotons for your front door area instead of the yellow/green leafed ones.

@JustJazzmom  That would be beautiful, especially with the color of the door. Thank you !!
