Or, is it common knowledge? I get the feeling QVC is often selling to first time gardeners. Dan Hughes and one of the Wallien's were going on and on today about how pretty this flower is, and it truly is pretty. But at one point, Dan went to "smell" the flower and looked like he was going to take a bite out of it. The rep said he doesn't understand why more people don't plant this flower. I have never planted it, because we have children in the neighborhood. Kids sometimes tend to try to eat flowers (at least mine did).

Not to mention pets and other animals.
Yes Roberta's and/or QVC should mention it. But would anyone buy it if they did?
So many popular plants are poisonous. I always knew Ponsettias were to cats so I never had them in my house. But I recently found out that Pothos is toxic to cats - I have one that was my Mom's but it's on top of my hutch.
And I recently sent a Peace Lily to my step-son - he opened his own business - then read where it was toxic to cats. My SS is keeping it in his shop - no pets there.
Maybe it's up to the buyer to research any plant before purchasing. I know I will from now on.

@PA Mom-mom Poisonous to both animals & humans?
I don't know anyone who goes around eating garden and/or house plants/flowers. Not even crawling babies. Never even heard on the news or read in the papers of a baby died because of eating a house or garden plant/flower.
How old were your children when eating flowers?

@Mz iMac My oldest son loved geraniums when he was just a crawling baby, and my youngest son ate everything that came in his way, including mushrooms. I think they had his name on a plaque at the poison control center. He once ate a light bulb from a night light.

Does the government have to make a law about every single thing on earth that might harm us? Should the company do it, yes, but . . .

No, I do not feel it's required to announce a plant may be poisonous to animals and/or people. At some point, the consumer needs to be responsible. It's easy enough to google search "Is plant X poisonous?"

There are many plants in addition to Foxglove that are toxic to people and/or pets. Should they announce this for all of them?

I know it's used to make some heart drug. If you did a survey you would find most people don't know that.

Foxglove is digitalis in floral form. As such, it is extremely poisonous (even the leaves, stems and any water that has held the flowers) to humans and pets.
In my opinion, it's hardly a plant one would suggest for a garden, no matter how pretty it is. Not everyone is aware that certain plants are toxic. Even the water from lilies of the valley is extremely poisonous. If you've ever read Agatha Christie, you'll know what I'm talking about.

when i go to our favorite large garden store, i never see tags or information on signs that plants may be poisonous. if i was concerned, i guess i could look it up easily on the internet.
Yes. Foxglove is poisonous, although recorded poisonings from this plant are very rare. The plant contains digitalis and other cardiac glycosides. These chemicals affect the heart. To be poisoned from foxglove, you would need to eat the seeds, stems, or leaves, or suck the flowers.
