Fresh sweet corn is one of my most favorite things, especially with garden tomatoes!  I can make a meal on just these two things.😃

We cut and freeze some and eat the rest.  A few years ago, I learned the entire ear of corn can be microwaved quickly to perfection.  The shucks & silks just slip right off.

These pics were taken in mid July.  Traditional purple morning glories always seem to grow up a few stalks lol.

@cheriere,

the morning glories are so beautiful with their deep purple color!

I've never seen corn in tha stage with all the silk.

It must be so great to look forward to all the fresh and wonderful things at your table!

So great to see your posts again!Heart

I love fresh sweet corn too! I don't have any growing in my yard but there is a local farmers' market that picks them in the morning and brings them in for sale that afternoon...it is so good!!

I like to wash and trim the husks a bit, wet them down then grill them in the husks. Delicious!!

@cheriere  Yumo!  My son has a friend who has quite a large home garden.  He brought us his delicious corn maybe two weeks ago. And yes, I froze some also.  Last week he brought us "real" tomatoes and this week, "real" cucumbers.  NOT those fake dark green ones in the store.  We are in heaven.  Made cucumber, onion sour cream salad yesterday for dinner.

That salad sounds so good!  Yum!  I'm glad his friend brought you some things from his garden.  I enjoy fresh corn, tomatoes and sweet onions better than anything lol. 😃❤️

I don't like tomatoes, but love corn.  I'm partial to white corn.  I don't have enough sun to even try growing it though.  Many years ago I had a mini garden in my yard and I grew 4 rows every year, but not Silver Queen.  I grew a variety called Platinum Lady.  It had smaller kernels and was more tender than Silver Queen.  It has since disappered from the market.

I also prefer white cornmeal for anything that calls for cornmeal, including cornbread. It has a more cake-like texture than yellow, but not sweet.  I don't want sweet cornbread.
