We have been having a warm winter here in the PNW - wet but warm.  I got outside to plant yesterday.  Got two large euonymus put in ground in side yard and two hellebros planted in corner flower bed in front under Douglas fir.  My back sure feels it today.  I don't have a large yard but all the tree roots are a challenge when it comes to digging holes!

@DiAnne, aren't those tree roots a killer?  We have two two issues here when digging.  One is tree roots and the other is stone.  We have a lot of granite rock here.  Every time the shovel goes in the ground, we hear CRUNCH😅.  We work with it since there's no way we can defeat it!  LM
