The Epargyreus Clarus or Silver Spotted Skipper, is a butterfly in the Hesperiidae family.  It's supposed to be the most recognized skipper in North America.  Interestingly enough, they live in shelters constructed of silk, which does not protect them from predators.

There's a lot in my zinnia garden right now.  I've noticed their color can range from light brown to black.  Their bodies look to be covered with long hair closeup.

Nature is amazing and so are these photos!!!!  What a beautiful butterfly and the colors stand out.  Printing and framing any one of these pictures would be an eye catcher in a room.

Aww, I'm so glad your grandson gets to see them often.❤️. I'm happy you've got to see a monarch too.  I haven't saw one this entire summer.  That's so sad to me.

Thank you so much for your kind words.  I've really enjoyed taking pics of the butterflies and zinnias this year.  It was really hard to whittle the amount I posted down lol.❤️❤️❤️
