Just wanted to post a few shots of hummingbirds at the feeders.  Although they are all different colors, they're called Ruby Throated.  They're sure fast little creatures. 😃❤️

@cheriere

You are amazing! These photos are really extraordinary especially being able to capture hummingbirds, still, and in flight, and happily drinking away!

Everytime I see your pictures, I think, these truly are National Geographic worthy!

@cheriere@cheriere Gorgeous! I absolutely love Hummingbirds , I get the Anna's Hummingbird and also the extremely territorial Rufus Hummingbird. Sometimes you have to watch your step at my place, as they like to dive bomb anyone who is in their path!

They winter at my house as well , I have a heat lamp on the feeder to keep their food warm when it's cold😀

@cheriere   Great hummer pics!

Looks like you have 2 mature males and a female. I can't tell for sure about the female without zooming in and seeing that bird from both sides. It could be an immature/juvie male too with just a tiny ruby red feather or two around the throat.

Your last pic 'might' be a juvie male...hard to tell if it is a female missing feathers from an injury or molting...the pic isn't clear enough (for me) when I try and zoom in...

The 1st several pics below are of different juvie males in various stages of feather growth...

Here's a female...void of any sign of red feathers...all white.

And this is just one of my fave pics of a hummer I ever took Smiley Happy

Re: RUBY THROATED HUMMINGBIRDS

Living here in NE Texas, we cannot put our feeders in the sunlight as the necter would get too hot for them to drink.  I hang our feeders under our porch.  I wish there was a way to keep the necter cold in their feeders thoughout the day.
