Your statement surprised me, so I did some googling on this topic. I found many articles that said most robins migrate, but some do not. I did not find any articles that said robins do not migrate.  If you have a source, please post.

The map in this article shows in purple — the robins are permanent residents.


And this article says they do migrate — but based on availability of food sources.


In our area, there must be a lot of food sources — holly & junipers providing berries. Even certain viburnums too.
