@ChiliPepper I would get them anyway. I have ‘Fanal’ & ‘Red Sentinel’ astilbes — both red.

Oh nice!!! What do you find is the bloom time range on yours?
I think I will get them, just love the ferny leaves & this is the first time I have run into red for some reason. Always different shades of pinks or white but never red.
Don't get me wrong, the pinks are beautiful but I'm a red kinda girl LOL!

I dug up an Iris bed and replaced with Astilbes. When we moved here the irises were already there and bloomed, but over the years the surrounding trees I guess got bigger and they no longer bloomed even after digging and dividing them. I think the bloom time is about the same although later in the year, sadly too short. These are Vision in Pink and I got them from a site called Bloomin Designs (no g at the end). It's a site that sells mostly bulk plants which is the only way I could've afforded buying that many of them at one time. I also have a red one, but I don't have the name of that one, probably Fanal since I bought it locally and I think that's the most common one.

I'm always on the hunt for anything red if you have any ideas.
Right now I have some red coneflowers (Sombrero salsa red) & blanket flowers to go in.

Look at Diana Parks peony. Klehm Songsparrow sells it. Its a tall red peony. (Provided your area gets cold winters).
I bought it last year & surprise surprise had 2 blooms on it this year. This company ships peonies in the fall, but you can request peony to be shipped sooner (Labor Day). Mine came right after Labor Day.

Another ‘red family’ peony is Port Royale which is in the burgundy shade.
A nice contrasting peony with red & white is White Cap. Could be reddish pink.

@ChiliPepper If your soil is on the dry side or sandy-ish — try Beauty of Livermere poppy,
