My house is on the market oh no not this year called local nursery what should I do? he said no bugs or diseases are alive in winter 125% sure it was this worse winter in 27 years, do not take any harsh measures, trim off brown damaged branches and give them a month to slowly comeback after this winter so it sounds like everyone across the country is getting same advice, he did say trim the brown branches because they will never come back and if I was really concerned bring a branch in for them to examine.
If your house is still on market before winter's beginning, use Wilt Pruf spray on the broadleaf evergreens to help prevent that winter damage to the leaves (which you now see in the springtime).
It adds a protective waxy coating to the leaves from the drying effects of winter's winds and snow.
Hollies, mountain laurels, camellias, azaleas, andromedas, boxwoods & rhododendrons all benefit from this anti desiccant.

I think that plants, like people, have a lifespan that eventually runs out. Maybe your plant is dying of natural causes, and maybe the weather this year has been too much for it. Give it a while to recover. If it doesn't, you'll have to say goodbye.

We lost a pine also from very heavy ice hanging on for 4 days. If you want to replace them get a Concolor pine. There was not one bit of damage on either of ours and they are thick and beautifully shaped. Bonus: when you break off needles they smell like a cross between pine and oranges, like Christmas morning when we peeled oranges from our Christmas stockings.

In So Calif I planted one of those pines from Christmas, but was told the life span was 6-8 yrs because of the smog there. I love pines.

The are prone to a certain disease. We had over thirty-two foot Pines, and during a storm, two fell, so had them all removed.

There was an segment on the news last night about many tree deaths to trees close to the roads/ driveways because of all of the salt used last winter. It has caused major problems in the Toledo, Ohio area. The melting salt has poisoned the ground.

I have 3 blue spruce trees that are doing this. I live in S. PA. I wonder if what we have going on is some kind of disease or infestation of something?

Take a sample of both healthy and sick and bring it to either a very good nursery's diagnostic counter or your local cooperative extension where they can examine the branches under a microscope.
