When should I transplant some Phlox? Thanks.

Is this phlox the tall plant like ‘David’ cultivar or the low groundcover variety?
If your ground isn’t frozen, you can probably transplant either now. I just moved some bachelor buttons this week into a new area.

I love creeping Phlox! Unfortunately so do our deer, over the winter they literally dig them out of the ground and eat them.

Florida has a 'roadside phlox' that is planted in many areas along the highways and they bloom every Spring. They are so pretty. They are not perennials, they reseed every year. Only get less than a foot high!

@Imaoldhippiewrote:When should I transplant some Phlox? Thanks.
@Imaoldhippie The rule of thum for planting is after the last frost, if you get frost. I am in N. Ca. and it's very warm here now, so am planting and potting.

@ImaoldhippieIf you ground is warm enough to dig, go ahead and transplant. Sounds like your phlox is blooming . . . it should be find to move it. Enjoy working in your yard so early in the season! We may have another bit of snow tomorrow. Oh dear. Happy Easter to everyone!
