Philip Watson's Succulent Mat

My only order of a live plant this year.  Delivered by PO this morning and what a mess.  Poorly packaged by Roberta's, the mat was just in a low tray and not secured in any way.  PO person decided to put this package on it's end straight up,  so when I opened it the mat was curled up in one corner, dry dirt all over the place and what little foliage that was undamaged was all tangled up and in pretty sad shape, much could not be rescued.

Yes, the "We aren't happy if you aren't happy" guarantee will be used by me but if Roberta continues to package in this manner why bother?  So glad this was my only plant purchase this season and now, no more.  I sure would think Roberta's would know better than to just lay a mat in a tray and plunk it into a box, mat and tray not fastened down in any way.  Live and learn.

Re: Philip Watson's Succulent Mat

I had a Roberta’s plant delivered ; and the package was thrown over my fence and in THE GARDEN . Maybe they thought I was going to plant , so put them close .

Of course they were all broken from being thrown ; so got a refund .

It's my opinion only.......... that these TV plant 'stars' haven't stepped even close to where the plants are shipped.  They smile - they promise - they deliver the orders - get a commission and that's the ballgame.

Someone else commented recently that their Philip Watson order was fulfilled by Cottage Farms.  Is Roberta's fulfilling his orders too?

Re: Philip Watson's Succulent Mat

Yes I don't understand Philip's affiliation with these companies.   But anyway, I did order when he was presenting Cottage Farms on the Q.   We had bad luck with the plants (and DH has a green thumb) we were able to get the next years replacement but not without an attitude from them.  The next years didn't work out well either.  My DH said, why don't we just buy locally like we used to.  Ummm, yeah good idea.

Re: Philip Watson's Succulent Mat

Phillip also 'sells' plants from Proven Winners (an excellent plant source)  but

he's not showing the best PW's offerings.  Kind of the drab variety.

Believe Phillip cuts deals with several sources - he loves to be on the Q..

@fthunt    I bet Phillip really misses his friend, Jill.  She always made such a big fuss over him, gave him a lot of attention.  He seemed to eat it up.

It says fulfilled by Robertas.  When I went to Robertas web site they had me fill out a form stating the problem.  I did receive an answer from them this morning saying it would be reviewed by their support staff.  So we'll see.
