Oh my Gosh, SO CUTE

A very LARGE male Cardinal and much smaller female or perhaps youth colored male Cardinal just arrived at my feeder.

 

The Big Dude was feeding the smaller one.

 

Daddy and Daughter Breakfast? Almost made me tear up.

Hi, @violann ! I believe that was his wife. I've also seen just that -- a male cardinal sharing a seed with his wife. He was giving it to her so tenderly!

I agree with @Harpa that they're probably mates.  I've often seen cardinals feeding each other.  Sooo romantic!

I've had a Mr. and Mrs. visit my feeders for a couple of weeks now.  I just love watching the two of them arrive together, dine together and then fly away together.  So sweet.
