@NickNack , I have a birdhouse right outside my bedroom window,  about 2 feet out.  I like that it gets a little coverage from the overhang of my roof.  It doesn't seem to bother the bluebirds at all...you know,  I've had several hatches in that box.  I keep the mealworm feeder within view of the box too.  I think that helps too.

I had it pretty close to the nest box,  maybe 12 feet...but I recently moved it further away, but still within view and the baby was able to fledge to it.  I only moved it because there was too much activity from the chipping sparrows and warblers, and didn't want the bluebirds to feel disturbed.   It all worked out and it's still going well.

Nice you have another nest!!

@Dazlin   I was actually thinking that you had a nest box near your house.

I saw a yellow-rumped warbler yesterday at my mealworm feeder!  That's the first time I've seen one up close.  I have *thought* I've seen one in my yard before, but this was the first time I was positive.  The mealworm feeder is right outside my bedroom window, and I looked at it closely while Googling the features.  It was definitely a yellow-rumped warbler.  I was so excited.

@NickNack , how nice to have that bird there.  The ones here are yellow pine warblers and they do a number on the mealworms.   I have tooooo many, and they're year round here.  They started here last summer and took permanent residency here along with their friends and family.   They love the bark butter too.  I wouldn't mind so much if they didn't devour everything and the bluebirds are lucky if they get any mealworms.

BTW, another bluebird nest in the house along my driveway...5 eggs inside 🙂.
