Need two replacement trees...ideas?

Until literally YESTERDAY morning, I had a great view - two red chestnut trees that were over 60 years old. My main living space is on my second floor and these two trees sheltered and shaded my wrought iron balcony (think New Orleans town house in Buffalo NY!) There are 3 townhouses in a row, and all had chestnuts, forming a canopy overhead for people walking down the street and keeping my balcony "protected" from the street traffic.

Yesterday after I left for work, private contractors sent out by the city cut down my two trees (live, healthy) and left two DEAD trees they were supposed to removed from the corner building. They mis-read their work order and took the two wrong trees. The dead ones were the ones marked with big orange X marks.

Now I have NO shelter...no privacy....and it's too late to do anything.

The city has been very nice - they are sending an arborist out today. Nothing can be planted until the spring, and I hesitate to get two more chestnuts - they will take way too long to get to 25 feet!

I'm so upset that I'm numb...
