Maybe ten years ago I bought several iris bulbs from Schreiner's. I picked a well rounded selection of colors, including orange, yellow and black. They are pretty much in full bloom right now and 90% of them are a purple and white combo, actually two different purple and white combos. Its like they are dominant or something. I have a couple black, which are really a dark, dark purple. But not an orange or yellow in sight. Does anyone know what's going on here?

@depglass Sounds like a problem for an advanced botonist. Why don't you contact the company from which you bought the iris?

Many years ago I bought one yellow iris plant from long-gone Frank's Nursery & Craft store. It was in a swan planter that sat atop my mail box. During the winter it fell and grew into 6 plants from the one dorm.
30-some years later, it has been divided almost annually and hundreds of plants given away. This is my front flower bed: all are yellow. You may have gotten the wrong set.

I ordered individual bulbs in different colors. This is the first year it has been so predominantly purple. Yes, I can call Schreiners, but I've had good luck getting answers on most problems on this board. Your yellows are beautiful.
