I'd really appreciate any help identifying this flower.  You all are so knowledgable.  As usual, I tried to Google it but couldn't find anything.

Re: Need help with flower ID

Veronica (speedwell) would be my first guess.  Not certain, though.

Perennial?  And where is it growing?

@Sweetbay magnolia  Thanks.  I checked some of the images and it's similar but I'm not sure that's it.  I saw it at a garden park.  They have the most unusual things.

@butterfly123  This is the only other picture I have but I don't see any leaves.  I want to go back and see if I can find out more info and take a photo with leaves.

That's a tough one.  I initially thought of a ornamental grass, but the leaves throw me.  Then I thought an ornamental millet, but color and leaves aren't right.

Take a look at Veronica spicata 'Rotfuchs'

Bingo!   @butterfly123That's it.  Thanks so much.  I don't know how on earth you found that.

Thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions!

OK.  Look at Veronicastrum virginicum.  I have a white form in my garden but there are pink.  It is native to the Eastern US and can be found in moist places - I almost thought the plant next to it appears to be aronia (chokeberry), by the fruits, and aronia also is native to wet areas.  Aronia is a member of the rose family and those chokeberry fruits resemble rose hips.  @cotton4me
