I have found putting the herbs in individual large -ish planters the best in my location. But in the past have planted them together and it all seems to work out . Unless God has watered them I water almost daily in summer. (central IN) For my yard individual pots help me to be sure poison ivy is not trying to befriend them. I do have a lot of prolific mints and lemon balm not in containers that I pick very carefully with my glasses on . I love them in tea.

TY to the poster mentioning to pinch back the basil --I frequently forget to do that and it is so much better when this is done .
